Beans, what the hell were you thinking!

Not much needs to be said here, that wall is massive. He's already landed it, and probably would've again if my camera didn't run out of battery.

Dalgety Bay

Last Sunday Aaron, Ruari, Beans and myself went out with the plan to skate some new marble ledges just around the corner from Aarons flat, first time we arrived without wax later returning with some to have the security guard from the building site kick us out. After that we needed a new plan and we made our way to Kinross bowl and filmed a few things including some super 8; to my surprise the camera still worked and i left there feeling pretty content with what we got on film. Next stop was Burntisland with a quick stop on the way to these ramps in Dalgety Bay... with everyones immediate excitement at the sight of them we filmed a few things for the blog and after about half an hour we made our way to the last stop of the day Burntisland. Ruiri got a few things on film but after about 10 minutes one of the locals began to kick up a fuss because Aaron asked him to move, so with the cold beginning to become unbearable and mutterings of "im dying for a scrap" we made tracks and headed home. To end the day off i didn't even have to buy a train ticket home thanks to a complete stranger giving me his as he had bought a return by mistake..Great!

Here's the Dalgety Bay footage..

Gary Bryce

I used to go up to Aberdeen quite a bit when the Dice indoor skatepark was open, i always managed to scam a lift with Steve or Girdy. I had just taken up photography when one of the last 'Jams' was being held.
I shot this sequence with no flash and a shitty lens and a slow motordrive. I can't for the life of me remember when this ,but from the clothing i'd say around 2001/2002.

Backside Flip.

I had some good times at that skatepark, it was rad.

Benny Fairfax?

I'm not going to lie, my brother bought this song on 12" vinyl and i listened to it, a lot. I was searching for old songs on Youtube (as you do) and came across it again.
Check it out and let me know if you think that Prince Ital Joe looks like Benny Fairfax, i do.

Plus, Marky Mark Wallberg needs to go back to rapping after his terrible performance in M.Night Shyamalans 'The Happening', he kills it on the mic.

Palace Skateboards

Out of London comes Palace Skateboards and we'll have our first batch this weekend in our Glasgow store and in our Edinburgh store early next week. Supporting UK skateboarding since 2001.

Wee Joe

I was looking through some old photos today and came across this one of Wee Joe Ward, one of many Bristo OG's. Most of you will know that he was amazing on a skateboard, he could pretty much do whatever he wanted. I guess with all great talents you get a bit bored, everyone expects a lot from you, but all you really want to do is mess about on a skateboard. Fearing he would become just another 'could've been' skater, he dissapeared down south without so much as a goodbye. Word quickly spread that he had been working in a horse stable and had decided to become a jockey. This was pretty funny news for a while but then it completely made sense, why didn't we see it before!
I Doctored the photo to what i think he'd look like today if he was skating Bristo.

What did the horse say to the one legged jockey?
How you getting on?

Haha, you're welcome.

Sunday in Edinburgh

Today i headed through to Edinburgh to film. My original plan was to shoot some super 8 as the weather was looking so great but to no surprise the camera failed to work (Which i've realised now was because i hadn't put the batteries in properly) so i went through from Glasgow with the vx only. First stop was Bristo Square. After a quick warm up Beans, Matthew and I all went to our first spot of the day at the Uni, we filmed a few lines but got kicked out after about half an hour. Soon after that we made our way towards a local school. Didn't get much done but Beans managed to get a couple of things on film and with Matthew suggesting a few ideas for tricks we walked to Napier to see what could be done. A few tricks were landed before we got kicked out again. Afterwards we met Aaron, Fakie and James; we all decided to go to a bank spot behind the cinema at Fountain Park so with Beans in the boot of the car we made our way. Once there the banks were a bit of a challenge to say the least so Beans took to early grabbing off the tallest ledge he could find next to it! We then set off (with Beans probably a few years minus on his walking lifespan) to a seriously rough bank spot where we met Kerr and Zander; after only about twenty minutes it started to rain and everyone went their own way. All in all it was a good day .. heres some of the footage..
