I've been meaning to scan this for a few months now, best Skate Mag cover in a while.

Someone needs to get Jack Curtin hooked up with some proper sponsors, seems like if you're on DGK no one will touch you. Bummer, as he's rad.

I like Reda, maybe he should tell Atiba how to take better photos. Atiba used to kill it, now it seems like he's given up. Don't even get me started on his photoshopping.

I love celeb sightings, so imagine my excitement when i came out of Under The Stairs yesterday evening to see a full blown movie set. I wondered over to see what was being filmed and to my surprise i spotted Simon Pegg. usually it's a shitty episode or Taggart so i was pretty stoked. I managed to take a few sneaky snaps.

I did some re-search and found out that they're filming for the Burke & Hare movie. You can see Simon Pegg, The fat extra guy from Extras, and Director John Landis (Director of classic films such as The Blues Brothers, An American Werewolf In London, Trading Places, Coming to America, and Michael Jacksons Thriller music video)

This is the best sighting of the year so far, almost as epic as the Peter Stringfellow sighting in Chester town centre in 1999!

Nike SB Fluff Book Competition

Eighteen months in the making, 117 Nike SB European riders, and one photographer (Marcel Veldman). 'Fluff' is finally with us and it was well worth the wait!
This book is epic, it's definitely the best skate photo book i've seen, dare i say the best skate book ever made? I was surprised and chuffed to find that it was 90% legit skate photos, and seeing that the book is 610 pages, that's a lot of skate photos. I also can't get over the size and weight of this thing, you could seriously pan a window in with it.


So here's the good news, we have 2 copies up for grabs. I love a good competition so guess what? This is what's happening, two seperate photography comps.

The first comp is a skateboard photography one. Send me your best skate photo, digital, film, polaroid, it doesn't matter, anything goes.
1st place is a copy of the book and some Nike SB goodies
2nd place gets some Nike SB goodies and a Focus t-shirt.

The second is a general photography comp. It can be anything, portrait, lifestyle, candid, whatever. It doesn't even have to be skate related, it just has to be good.

Ghetto Cam #2

Hitting you up with some Ghetto cam footage from 2 weekends ago. I was thinking about saving it and doing a proper little edit, then i remembered i didn't know how, and i can't be bothered. I'm sure it's easy but it kind of defeats the purpose of the shitty filming and crappy clips. Maybe i'll do a 'Best Of' edit when i have enough footage?

Mark 92

Between 96 and 2001 you'd be guaranteed to find Mark 92 at Bristo. There were rumours he used to sleep in the bushes and survive on eating berries. Not really, i just made that up, but he did spend a ridiculous amount of time there.

I think i might've blogged this sequence a while back, before i started the Media Division blog, so some of you might have seen it. It was featured in Sidewalk for a 'New Blood' a while ago now, i even did the little write up thing which Mark wasn't best pleased about. I might have mentioned something about him being a bit of a ladies man? Oh well, i thought it was funny.
