The Lost Negatives

Niall Barlow was always super keen to film and shoot photos, almost to the point of being annoying. I was trying for the longest time to get Niall an Omens or something similar in Document, anything i shot i would send it down in hope that it might get printed. I had a few slide sheets worth of stuff and having spoken to Kingy at the 2001 Livi Skate Party i sent them down along with 8 films of that i had just shot at Livi.
I hadn't heard anything and a few months later the article came out, of course, none of my photos were used.
I did a little bit of traveling and forgot about all the photos i'd sent till about a year later. I contacted Kingy and the Document chaps and they couldn't find any of my stuff. They had recently moves offices and my photos were nowhere to be seen.
The worst part about it is, i overzealous when speaking to Kingy and sent all the Livi photos down without developing them first, so i never actually got to see them.

Amongst the photos i sent down i remembered a sequence i shot of Niall from the Lanthorn Community Centre, a place i frequented as a youth growing up in Livi. It had the best rails out the front and even smaller ones round the side. I managed to take a few people their over the years, but unfortunately the big rails were taken out around 2003 and the small ones have been skate stopped.
To my knowledge this is the only trick ever done into the little bank at the side of the small rail. I was so stoked on this when i shot it and again last week when i was remembering it. Stoked to the point of getting in touch with Niall to see if he still had the contact sheet i gave him at the time. He did, here it is.

Niall Barlow - Fs 180 over rail into the bank.

I'm going to hunt through my negs to see if i can find more photos from the Lanthorn, those rails were so good.

Superdead

Superdead intro promo is here. Short but very sweet.

Superdead Promo 2010 from Two Distribution on Vimeo.

Can't wait to see more from these guys.

Molecules in Motion

I was looking through some old scans and came across this photo of Toby Paterson. Taken on one of the many road trips to Bolton that was had in the early 2000's. Toby hit my fisheye on one of these tailslides, the lens was brand new so i little fright.

Anyway, while reminiscing i remembered that i shot some photos of Toby's art show 'Molecules In Motion'. I think this was also in 2001, my mind's getting a bit blurry with dates these days.
This is the only photo i have scanned in from the show.

Colin Kennedy backside flip.

I need to have a rummage through my negs and see if there's anything else worth posting. If you managed to go to the show i'm sure you'll agree that it was rad, great idea for a show, art you can skate!

Buckfast

The ipath guys have been and gone in the U.K, unfortunately it was raining when they came to Edinburgh. Things like that give Scotland a bad name, dry for weeks then when a demo is set it rains, always the way.

Grey in Store now

Grey is a new skateboard magazine out of London by photographer Henry Kingsford. I'm guessing a lot of people aren't familiar with his work, so this might help

I'm not sure if this was his first published skate photo but it wasn't far off it. Front cover too.

The mag is sweet, it's small enough to fit in your pocket which is awesome if you're jumping on a train or bus, and the photos are rad.
Grey will be released in print quarterly and soon after every issue it will be available online via the Grey website

If you're like myself and not a big fan of online magazines, get yourself down to Focus, we have a lot of copies and it's free!
I usually have an idea of how i want to shoot a photo before i go to the spot. I had already shot a long lens photo of this spot and the same trick, well almost the same, Danny's was switch, but you get me. I decided to shoot this fisheye, the block is already huge and i thought with the fisheye it would make it look even bigger. It didn't.

I managed to make the ledge look tiny, caught him off centre and made a switch backside tailslide on a big block look really shit. I didn't do the trick justice at all.
Oh well, you win some you lose some. Maybe a re-shoot is in order.

Jackson Curtin is legit, someone needs to hook him up with a shoe sponsor. Here's his section from the new LRG Video 'Give Me My Money Chico'.

Check the trick at Flushing Meadows, ridiculous.

I suggest you check out the other parts as they're all sick. Looks like they had a lot of fun filming it.

Miles Kondracki

I went to Glasgow yesterday to shoot some photos, Miles and Matthew were already there trying to film some stuff with Paul VX. I don't think they got anything done, especially Miles, he was all over the place. Maybe if he didn't skate with his hood up like this

Here's the photo of the Nosegrind, the only trick he landed all day. maybe it'll cheer him up for waisting £10.70 on train fare.

Tramp Piss

This used to be a common sight at Bristo Square, not anymore, when did bums start travelling in packs? I remember Brian Jones casually skating over a solo tramp while he was passed out on the block, oh the memories.

This guy had actually pissed himself, i think it was the Special Brew.

If you want to watch the rest of the video, all the sections are on the side of the Youtube page. Don't miss out the friend section where you can see Greg Lutska mingin' K-Swiss shoes. Gross.
